Both sides make a good point about using plastic or copper. That said. My Mustang still has the plastic lines to my Sun oil pressure gauge that was installed in 1974. As long as you keep it away from headers/moving parts I think it would be fine. Also plastic lines come in every Autometer oil gauge, not copper.
